Dealing with an elder
by kzjw inthiis one's long, but here's a letter i sent in open dialog with the elder of my wife's congregation...let's hear the input... i appreciate your candor, and admittedly i can see an effort to not be overbearing in your response to my questions.
my main concern is trusting the organization.
when i read john 14(the whole chapter because i"m never satified with just a verse), i don't see anything that provides for some "organization" to lead us to the salvation that we all seek in our christian walk.

i've known plenty - ones with obvious drinking problems.
not necessarialy alcoholics, but ones that equate good times with drinking, and drinking alone.

March BOE Financial Letter?
by yknot ini received an email from a sister-undercover -apostate saying someone had posted on her anti-jw group that there was a boe dated march 1, 2008 about local kh financial accounts and the wts.. my fading doesn't always let me log-on much and i couldn't find anything under "boe letter" with last month search tool.
has this been discussed?
i stopped by the kh today and checked the board and we had nothing posted (not really expecting to see it posted either).. here is the cut/paste of her email to me:.

I was told I sound like an Apostate
by senora inso i'm in the process of ditching my jw friends and one of them tells me that i'm starting to sound like an apostate why??
because i'm going to yet another congregation and she feels that i should stay in one cogo to get established.
first of all i'm about to go into a foreign language congo wherein i speak half the language and want to be fluent in that language, but my real reason is....i don't want friends and family finding out about my fade so they won't start calling me and bugging me.

by hotchocolate inthe memorial i think is getting close to being over in most parts of the world.
i'm really interested to know if the recent watchtower article encouraged any to partake for the first time.
did anyone notice this?

The "problem" is that SO MANY people who end up partaking have a history of (a) mental instability, and/or (b) serious ego issues.
This justifies in the mind of the others the notion to disregard their taking the emblems as a sign they are of the anointed. -

A substance abuse counselor told a group that many religious groups' members have a hard time dealing with the impossible demands of the religion, and resort to substances to deal with it. He SPECIFICALLY named JWs as one of the religions, and he has treated several people, including elders, MSs, etc.

my last memorial was in 2006. last year was my first non-attendance.

I was very sad and confused when I first missed them.
I knew that it was the final turning point. Some people ONLY go to the Memorial, so if I don't go, then it is a done deal.
I am over it, now. Family, current friends, and ex-friends are all going.
And I am NOT.
